  Our family camps every year in northern minnesota and this year we chose to come to this campground to switch things up. If you're looking for a north woods trailer park, this may be for you. We were expecting a more rustic camping experience but this place is packed to the brim with trailers. The amenities hardly make up for what it lacks. The staff was exceptionally friendly minus what I'm assuming was the boss, who is very afraid of dogs and not particularly welcoming. There are many full trailer homes that give the trailer park feel, and the 5th wheels are packed in tight as well. The sites are small and offer zero privacy. There's no beach there or nearby, and in the 3 days we were there we were the only people visible outside of the staff. On the plus side, it was very quiet if that's your preference and there's a multi purpose store/ice cream shop with an adequate game room. There's also a small pool and apparently they hold a movie night against a large structure some nights. We ended up calling our camping trip short and went home looking forward to a new endeavor next year. It really wasn't worth the price either. There's a $29 tenting fee whether or not we were to have stayed on one of the two trailer lots we had rented as a family. From our experience, most campgrounds allow two tents per site or one tent in addition to a trailer. When we checked in we were informed that there wasn't a tenting site available near our family, but that we could set up a tent on their site. However, with the fee being $29 in any case we chose to have our own site and ended up 20 feet away separated by a vacant lot. Seemed very silly to me.

  We LOVE Lake of the Woods Campground! This is our fourth year in a row and it's our very favorite campground. Between the pool, the ice cream, the marina close by, the laundry facilities and the spacious camp sites, it would be hard to pick a favorite aspect. The owners are so fantastic, friendly and helpful! I'd give them 10 stars if I could.
